Sewage Backup Cleanup
Containment, removal and sanitising after a sewage or grey water backup, carried out as the health risk it is.
This one is not a cleaning job
Sewage backup is a contamination event. Anything porous the water has touched is a health risk, and the risk does not go away because the surface has been wiped down. Category three water is handled under containment, with removal rather than cleaning for porous materials.
We contain the area, remove and dispose of contaminated materials properly, clean and sanitise the hard surfaces, then dry the structure to standard before anything is closed back up.
What the work includes- Containment of the affected area before work begins
- Extraction and proper disposal of contaminated water and materials
- Removal of porous materials that cannot be safely cleaned
- Cleaning and sanitising of hard surfaces
- Structural drying with readings logged to completion
- Odour control once the sources are gone
- Rebuild and finishes by the same contractor
Treat as urgent when
- Waste water is backing up through a floor drain or fixture
- There is a sewage smell in a basement or mechanical room
- A backwater valve or sump has failed
- Contaminated water has reached carpet, drywall or insulation
- A commercial kitchen or washroom area is affected
Sewage Backup Cleanup, answered
Generally no. Porous materials that have been in contact with category three water are removed rather than cleaned. Hard surfaces are cleaned and sanitised.
The affected area is contained and should be kept clear. Whether the rest of the building stays occupied depends on the extent, and we will be straight with you about it.
Yes. Backwater valves, sump systems, drainage and waterproofing are all work we carry out ourselves.
