What we were looking at
The situation
Garage slabs take salt, water and load every winter. Once the surface starts spalling, the reinforcement underneath is next, and that is a structural problem rather than a surface one.
The failed areas were cut out to sound concrete, the reinforcement was cleaned and treated, and the slab was repoured and cured before the bays went back into use.
Scope of work
Failed areas cut out square to sound concrete
Reinforcement exposed, cleaned and treated
Repoured, finished and cured properly before loading
Work phased so most of the garage stayed in use
Ramps and curbs repaired in the same visit
A slab that stops deteriorating instead of being patched every spring.
