Exterior foundation waterproofing
Full excavation to the footing, wall repair, membrane and dimpled drainage board with new weeping tile on a property in a flood-prone part of the GTA.
The situation
Interior patching had been tried twice and water kept coming back. The only permanent answer was to deal with it on the outside, where the water actually is, rather than managing it after it has already entered the structure.
We excavated to the footing, cleaned and inspected the full height of the wall, repaired every crack we found, then built the assembly back up properly before backfilling and restoring the grade.
Scope of work- Excavation to the footing along the affected elevations
- Crack repair and parging before any membrane went on
- Premium waterproofing membrane with dimpled drainage board over it
- New weeping tile bedded in clear stone and tied into the drainage
- Backfill, compaction and the grade restored to fall away from the building
Water is stopped at the wall instead of being managed inside the basement, and the grade now carries surface water away from the foundation.
