Concrete walkway and curb replacement

What we were looking at

The situation

Settled walkways and broken curbs are a trip hazard first and a drainage problem second. Both get worse every freeze-thaw cycle, and both are usually caused by what is under the concrete rather than the concrete itself.

We removed the failed sections, rebuilt and compacted the base, corrected the falls and repoured with proper joints so the new work can move without cracking.

Scope of work

• Failed sections removed and the base rebuilt in compacted lifts
• Falls corrected to carry water to the catch basins
• Control joints cut at the correct spacing
• Curbs formed and finished to line
• Landscaping and edges reinstated

Level, drained and jointed, so it still looks like this in five years.
