Waterproofing
Basement waterproofing
Interior drainage system, sump installation and crack injection on a property where exterior access was blocked.
What we were looking at
The situation
Exterior waterproofing is the better answer when it is possible. On this property it was not: the affected wall sat tight against a neighbouring structure with no room to excavate.
So the water was managed from the inside, properly, with a drainage system that collects it at the footing and a sump that removes it before it reaches the floor.
Scope of work- Interior perimeter drainage cut in at the footing
- Sump pit and pump installed and discharged away from the building
- Structural cracks injected under pressure
- Vapour control to the wall above the drainage
- Floor restored and the system left accessible for service
A dry basement on a property where the textbook answer was not available.
