Balcony and terrace waterproofing
Traffic-bearing membrane installed across balconies and terraces on an occupied residential building.
The situation
Balconies take rain, snow, UV and freeze-thaw all year, and they sit directly over somebody’s ceiling. When the coating goes, water gets into the slab and the repair stops being cosmetic.
The old coating was stripped back, the slab was repaired where it needed it, and a seamless traffic-bearing membrane was installed and turned up at every edge and door sill.
Scope of work- Existing coating stripped and the slab prepared
- Concrete repairs before any membrane went down
- Seamless traffic-bearing membrane, turned up at edges and sills
- Drains and scuppers re-detailed into the membrane
- Finished surface that looks like a finish, not a repair
A balcony that sheds water and still looks like part of the building.
